If you are a serious hobbiest or professional photographer, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 is a fantastic program to import, manage, process and output your digital photos. This all in one package is the best tool in your digital photography software arsenal allowing you to dramatically speed up your workflow, so you spend less time behind the computer and more time behind the lens.

Here is a brief of what will be covered in the workshop:

  1. Introduction to Lightroom 4 - how Lightroom works

  2. Catalogues

  3. Lightroom workflow

  4. Interface

  5. Modules: Library & Develop - For the basic course I would just concentrate on these 2 modules and give a very brief overview on the Map, Book , Slideshow, Print and Web modules.

  6. Library: Import - Import Presets

  7. Library: Tethered capture

  8. Library: File Management

  9. Library: Collections

  10. Develop: Image processing

  11. Develop: B&W

  12. Develop: Presets

  13. Develop: Batch processing

  14. Library: Export - Export Presets

A trial version of Lightroom will be available for all workshop candidates, please indicate whether you will be working on a mac or windows machine when you book.

What to bring:

Laptop of desktop computer - this is not essential, but will make it easier to follow along. If you have Lightroom already loaded it will help speed up the workshop. Having Photoshop on your machine will be an added bonus.

Please note that Lightroom 4 will not work on Windows XP, you will need Vista or Windows 7.

Pen and paper to take notes.

Some of your own images, preferably RAW files.

Some drink s and snacks - tea and refreshments are provided, but you may feel snackish during the workshop.
